Five Minute Fabulous – Cushion Transformation

Do you ever have the urge to create something, but it’s midnight, or the shops are shut, or you have no money, or you can’t go out and get supplies? Well I sure do, so I’ve decided to create an ongoing series of easy projects you can whip up with things you probably have lying around the house.
Today I decided to revamp the cushions, using scarves, brooches and hair clips. Raid your jewellery box for bling, decide what colour you want to use, then go for it!
Here’s some colour inspiration for you.

Three brooches pinned to the corner of a black and white cushion, and a large grey flower brooch pinned to the centre of a small black cushion equals instant glamour.

I’ve gone for a black and white theme here, with two black flower brooches on a black and white cushion, and a large striped flower on a smaller black cushion.

A nice warm red and orange colour scheme here, with a red flower brooch and orange scarf jazzing up some inexpensive cushions.

Doesn’t hot pink look great with black and white!

A soft pink fabric flower adds a pretty touch to a small black cushion.

A rectangular cushion covered in a pale blue scarf, and a cushion wrapped in a doily with a floral hair clip attached adds a touch of subtle colour to the bed.
Don’t have any suitable bling? Thrift stores are a treasure trove of cheap brooches and scarves, and cushions for that matter.
What do you think? I’d love your feedback on the Five Minute Fabulous concept.
