They say one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. Well, I treasure the trash people leave outside their homes for the council’s hard rubbish removal. Cruising the streets, seeing all the fabulous junk people are discarding. Oh, the joy! And I’m not alone. Council clean up brings out people in droves, slowly driving up and down the streets with their trailers, ready to pounce on items that may be worth something. Scrap metal is popular, as is something inside television screens and computer monitors. You see them hacked apart, the contents removed, then left wounded on the side of the road, waiting for the council truck to cart them away. Everything in today’s photo was found on the side of the road, and cost me nothing! I am babysitting the little yellow and white chest of drawers for my wonderful Sister in Law Jess, until she has a place of her own where she can display it with pride. She too understands the merit of the council clean up. Always be vigilant, you never know what you may find.
